What a Fisher & Paykel repair starts at, and what actually moves the number.

Every figure here is a starting point and a researched market range for this equipment in South Florida — never a quote and never a final price. On this maker the largest single variable is not the part: it is whether the machine has to come out of the cabinetry it was built into. The pages below say which jobs that applies to.

  • from $95 diagnostic, credited to the repair
  • 21 jobs with a published starting figure
  • 0 final prices quoted before a diagnostic

By job

Every repair, and what it starts at

The figure on a card is where that job begins for this equipment here. What moves it is which component, and how the appliance leaves the place it was fitted into.

  • Diagnostic visit cost

What the first visit costs, why it is the only honest way to price a repair on this equipment, and why it comes off the bill. It is the company rate rather than anything to do with the badge — a cooktop and a wall oven cost the same to diagnose.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: service calls $59–$129
    • Credited toward the repair when you go ahead
    • A second appliance on the same visit costs less than a second visit
    What moves this figure
  • DishDrawer lid & seal repair cost

The repair that exists only on this maker, and the one with no aggregator band behind it. It is set on labor plus an assembly rather than on a market average, because no other dishwasher has a lid motor to compare it with.

    • Lid motor and seal treated as one assembly
    • Whether the drawer has to leave its cabinet opening
    • On a double, one drawer or both
    What moves this figure
  • Dishwasher drain & filter repair cost

Set at the low end of the market band on purpose, because on these machines the filter and the drain path end a large share of these calls before the pump is ever reached — and a page that priced for the pump would be pricing for the exception.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: dishwasher drain work $120–$300
    • The free checks come first and often end it
    • Pump and check valve tested under load
    What moves this figure
  • Dishwasher leak repair cost

A little higher than the drain row for one reason: on a drawer the search runs lid seal, drawer seal, connections and base pan, and finding a leak takes longer than clearing a blockage. Same market band, different starting point.

    • Traced to the source rather than mopped and guessed
    • Flood detection understood before a board is blamed
    • A full cycle run and watched before we leave
    What moves this figure
  • Dishwasher control & motor repair cost

The highest dishwashing row, and the one where we are most likely to advise against the repair. A double DishDrawer carries two wash controllers and two motor controllers, and that is the reason the figure sits where it does.

    • Quoted only after the rotor and the free causes are excluded
    • Two of everything on a double, and which one matters
    • An honest view when a machine is not worth it
    What moves this figure
  • Refrigerator cooling & defrost repair cost

Fans, dampers, defrost heaters and sensors — the ordinary parts behind almost every "it is not cooling" call. The figure carries the access on an integrated column, because that is where the time actually goes.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: defrost and fan work $180–$450
    • Airflow and the condenser checked before anything is opened
    • Integrated access planned at the diagnostic
    What moves this figure
  • Refrigerator sealed system repair cost

The highest figure on this site, quoted last and only after everything cheaper has been measured out. On some cabinets it is straightforwardly worth doing and on others it is not, and you get the arithmetic rather than a sales pitch.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: sealed system $600–$1,500
    • EPA-certified refrigerant handling
    • An honest view on whether the cabinet is worth it
    What moves this figure
  • Ice maker repair cost

Set low because the first two things checked are the filter and the water pressure reaching the machine, and a fair share of these calls end there. The ice maker itself is the last item on the list rather than the first.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: ice maker work $150–$400
    • Filter and supply pressure before the machine
    • The one repair that cannot be proved in an hour
    What moves this figure
  • Refrigerator door, seal & panel repair cost

Set deliberately low, because on this maker a crooked or badly closing door is usually the cabinet panel hardware rather than the appliance — and that is a much smaller job than the one people brace for.

    • Panel brackets checked before the appliance is blamed
    • Seals read rather than replaced on sight
    • The repair that quietly fixes three other complaints
    What moves this figure
  • Wine cabinet & beverage center repair cost

Sensors, fans, seals and controls on a 24-inch integrated cabinet with very little air around its condenser. The figure carries the diagnosis time, because proving a cabinet holds a narrow band takes hours rather than minutes.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: wine cabinet work $180–$500
    • Which zone, on a dual-zone cabinet
    • No owner-side reset published for these
    What moves this figure
  • Oven heating & sensor repair cost

Elements, temperature sensors, relays and the thermal cut-out that opens after a self-clean cycle. The cheapest part on this list is also the commonest cause, which is a good combination for you and a poor one for anybody who prefers selling boards.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: element and sensor work $180–$420
    • Sensor measured before anything is ordered
    • The thermal cut-out checked on any oven that has self-cleaned
    What moves this figure
  • Oven door & self-clean lock repair cost

Latch motors, position switches, hinges and door glass. The figure assumes nobody has pulled on a locked door — if somebody has, that changes the job from a latch to a door and we would rather know before we arrive.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: latch and hinge work $160–$400
    • A2 and A3 are opposite ends of one mechanism
    • The free reset tried before the tools come out
    What moves this figure
  • Steam oven repair cost

Its own row because it is its own appliance: a boiler, a pump, a level sensor and a drain that no plain oven has. Higher than the oven row, and set separately rather than averaged with it.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: steam oven work $220–$550
    • Descale history asked about before parts are discussed
    • Fill side and drain side diagnosed separately
    What moves this figure
  • Oven control & display repair cost

Control boards, displays and touch panels on a built-in machine — plus the sixty-odd F numbers the maker publishes without individual meanings. The free reset comes before the figure, every time.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: oven control boards $220–$600
    • Display and control are often two parts
    • The maker's own reset tried first, and it is free
    What moves this figure
  • Range burner & ignition repair cost

Ignitors, caps, ports, valves and thermocouples across gas ranges, cooktops and professional rangetops. Set at the low end because the commonest version of this call is a burner that was cleaned and reassembled wrong.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: burner and ignition work $150–$380
    • Caps and ports checked first — the commonest finding
    • Every burner proved before we leave
    What moves this figure
  • Induction cooktop repair cost

Power boards, zone sensors and the cooling that keeps them alive. The figure is high because the part is a board — but a real share of these calls end without one, at the cabinet under the counter.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: induction board work $220–$600
    • Ventilation and pan checked before a board is quoted
    • Diagnosed under load, not cold
    What moves this figure
  • Cooktop glass replacement cost

A parts-led row rather than a labor-led one, and the page says plainly what it is: a replacement, not a repair. Availability is confirmed before you are asked to agree to anything, because on an older cooktop that is what decides it.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: glass replacement $290–$800
    • Availability confirmed before you commit
    • A safety matter, not a cosmetic one
    What moves this figure
  • Washing machine repair cost

Ordinary market pricing for ordinary laundry work, with one caveat said before the number: this maker no longer lists a washing machine for the United States, and parts availability is checked before anything is ordered.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: washer repairs $150–$450
    • Parts availability confirmed before ordering
    • Told plainly when a machine is not worth it
    What moves this figure
  • Dryer repair cost

Heating, airflow and moisture sensing across vented, condenser and heat pump machines. A large share of these end outside the appliance, in a duct run, which is why the figure starts where it does.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: dryer repairs $140–$420
    • Which kind of dryer decides the whole diagnosis
    • A heat pump circuit is diagnosed before it is quoted
    What moves this figure
  • Appliance maintenance visit cost

Priced per visit rather than per appliance, which is what makes it worth doing on a kitchen where most of the machines come from one maker. The travel and the setup are the bulk of what any service call costs.

    • Per visit, not per machine
    • Condenser, seals, filters, descale, ducts
    • A written note of what was found, including what was fine
    What moves this figure
  • Appliance installation & re-fit cost

Putting a built-in machine back into its opening, hanging and aligning a cabinet panel, and connecting water where there is water. Not a delivery service — the fitting after a repair, a kitchen change, or an installation that was never right.

    • Researched market range for South Florida: built-in fitting $150–$450
    • Fitted to the maker's own instructions, and we tell you what they said
    • Ventilation and clearance checked, because it causes later repairs
    What moves this figure

The honest reason a figure moves

Nothing here is priced higher because the badge is expensive.

This line runs from a Series 5 freestanding refrigerator to a Series 11 integrated column, and no row on this site moves with it. What does move a figure is the access: an integrated column fitted into millwork cut for it, a wall oven in a tall housing, a cooktop set into stone. That is real work and it is planned rather than discovered.

Where the value of the appliance changes anything, it changes the advice rather than the price. A sealed-system repair that is straightforwardly worth doing on an integrated column is often not worth doing on a small freestanding cabinet, and the page says so — including when saying so costs us the job.

How a visit runs
A shallow steel tray on a kitchen counter holding ordinary replacement parts — a pump housing, two hose clamps, a rubber seal and a handful of screws — laid out in bright flat daylight.

How to read a figure on this site

Four things every one of these pages means

The same four rules sit behind every figure on this site, so a page never has to restate them.

"From" means from

  • It is where that job starts for this equipment in South Florida
  • Not what yours will cost — that is confirmed after an on-site diagnostic

The range is the market's, not ours

  • Where a page quotes $150–$400, that is a researched band for the same work across South Florida
  • It is published so you can see where our starting figure sits inside it

Parts and labor together

  • Unless a page says otherwise
  • The diagnostic comes off the bill when the work goes ahead

Nothing is opened before you agree

  • A written scope and figure comes first
  • If the honest answer is that the repair is not worth doing, that is what you get instead of a quote

Two rows that are unlike anything on a sibling site

A part with no market price, and a machine the maker no longer sells.

The DishDrawer lid mechanism has no equivalent in any other dishwasher, so there is no aggregator band to set it against. That row is priced on labor plus a part sourced as an assembly, and the page says so rather than borrowing a number from a machine that works differently.

The laundry rows carry a parts caveat instead of a warranty one. This maker lists no washer or dryer for the United States while continuing to sell laundry spare parts and stacking kits — machines in service, no machines for sale. Common wear items are usually available; model-specific electronics are the risk. Availability is confirmed before anything is ordered.

By appliance

Or start from the machine

Nine appliance pages, each with what we are called out for most on that machine and what it starts at.

  • A flush black induction cooktop set into a dark stone worktop, photographed from a low angle along the surface, the glass clean and reflecting daylight, no zone lit and no markings visible.
    Induction · SmartZone · Gas · Rangetops · Teppanyaki · Electric · 12" · 24" · 30" · 36" · 48"

    Cooktops and rangetops

Forty-six machines and four different technologies under one word: seventeen induction cooktops, thirteen sealed gas, eleven professional rangetops, three electric and two teppanyaki plates. A rangetop is the top half of a professional range with nothing underneath it — the same grates, the same burners, the same repair — which is why it is on this page rather than a page of its own.

    Cooktop repair
  • A double dish drawer dishwasher built into a pale kitchen run, the upper drawer pulled fully open with its flat lid raised clear of the tub, the empty basket dry, bright coastal daylight from the left.
    Single DishDrawer · Double DishDrawer · Tall · Drop door · Integrated · Series 5 · 7 · 9 · 11 · 24"

    Dishwashers and DishDrawers

Fifty-one machines, and forty of them are drawers. The DishDrawer is this maker's own invention and nothing else in a South Florida kitchen works the way it does: a lid that seals under motor pressure instead of a door, a wash system per drawer, and on a double, two machines that can run — and misbehave — independently of each other.

    Dishwasher repair
  • A front-loading dryer with the door open showing the empty ribbed drum lit from inside and the lint filter half withdrawn from its slot, a laundry basket on the floor, bright daylight.
Vented · Condenser · Heat pump · Stacked · AeroCare · Laundry closets

    Dryers

The same situation as the washers: Fisher & Paykel lists no dryer for the United States today, and the ones in South Florida laundry rooms are still working and still repairable. What is worth knowing before you call is which kind you have — vented, condenser or heat pump — because the three fail in completely different places, and only one of them is about a duct.

    Dryer repair
  • A tall integrated freezer column with two interior drawers pulled out to show frosted packets and a full ice bin, the door held open, white kitchen behind, cold blue interior light.
    Integrated column freezers · Triple zone · Ice maker · 18" · 24" · 30" · Series 9 · Series 11

    Freezers

Eight machines, and every one of them is an Integrated column meant to stand beside a refrigerator column behind matching cabinet fronts. Seven of the eight carry an ice maker, and one is a triple-zone machine with three independently controlled compartments. That is the whole row, and this card would rather say so than pad it.

    Freezer repair
  • A freestanding professional range in brushed stainless with a row of heavy stainless control knobs along its front, set in a bright coastal kitchen with pale timber cabinets, no flame lit.
    Professional gas · Dual fuel · Induction · Classic · 4 · 5 · 6 · 8 burner · Griddle · 30" · 36" · 48"

    Ranges

Forty-one freestanding ranges, and the split tells you what this maker is: sixteen dual fuel, fifteen gas, seven induction and one electric. Twenty-seven of them are Professional — heavy grates, dual-flow burners, four to eight of them, and on the larger machines a griddle let into the top. On a 48-inch range, "the oven is not heating" means one of two ovens, and which one narrows the part before anybody drives anywhere.

    Range repair
  • A tall integrated refrigerator column standing open in a bright coastal kitchen, glass shelves neatly filled with vegetables and glass bottles, cool even interior light, pale oak cabinetry either side.
    Integrated columns · French door · Quad door · CoolDrawer · Series 5 · 7 · 9 · 11 · 24" · 30" · 32" · 36"

    Refrigerators

Fifty-one machines in the current line, and twenty-four of them are Integrated — built into the cabinetry behind your own door panels rather than standing in an opening. Columns that pair a refrigerator with a freezer beside it, French door and quad door machines that stand on the floor, and the CoolDrawer, a drawer that can be run as anything from a freezer to a chiller.

    Refrigerator repair
  • A built-in wall oven with a flush handleless front of dark glass set in a tall pale oak column, the door closed and the glass clean and reflecting a bright coastal kitchen.
    Self-cleaning · Combi-steam · Convection speed · Double · Minimal · Contemporary · Professional · 24" · 30"

    Wall ovens

The largest row on this site: a hundred and ten wall ovens, and a third of them cook with steam. Forty-five are self-cleaning ovens, thirty-eight are combi-steam machines, twenty-eight are compact convection-speed ovens with a microwave system inside them, and six are doubles. A steam oven is a plumbed appliance with a boiler in it, and it does not fail the way an oven fails.

  • A front-loading washing machine and dryer standing side by side in a bright white utility room, the washer door swung open on its empty stainless drum, folded towels on the counter above.

    Washing machines

Read this first: Fisher & Paykel no longer lists a washing machine for the United States. Its US support site has a laundry section with nothing in it, and the Products menu has no fabric care in it at all. The machines are still here — South Florida laundry rooms are full of them — and the maker still sells laundry parts and stacking kits. We repair the ones that are here, and we would rather tell you where the line falls than let you find out at the parts stage.

    Washer repair
  • An integrated wine cabinet with a glass door under a pale stone worktop, dark timber racking behind the glass holding bottles on their sides, the interior lit cool and even.
    Integrated wine cabinets · Column wine · Beverage centers · Dual zone · 24" · Series 9 · Series 11

    Wine cabinets and beverage centers

Five machines: integrated wine cabinets, a full-height column wine cabinet, and two beverage centers. They are on one page because they are one repair — the same compressor, the same door seal, the same sensors and the same electronics, in a cabinet that happens to be holding bottles rather than cans.

If the job is not listed

Not every job we do has a page here.

These are the repairs people ask the cost of often enough to publish a figure for. If yours is not on the list — a warming drawer, a coffee maker, a ventilation unit, or something older than any current line — describe it when you book.

You will get a figure the same way everybody else does: after somebody has actually looked at it.

About these figures

What people ask about cost

Why will you not give me a final price on the phone?

Because the same symptom has several ordinary causes that sit hundreds of dollars apart, and only the appliance settles which one is yours. A phone price is either padded to cover the worst case or too low to honor once the panel is off, and both cost you more than a $95 diagnostic that comes off the bill.

Where do the market ranges come from?

They are researched bands for the same parts and the same labor across South Florida, narrowed by what the component actually is on this equipment and by what the installation does to the time. They are published so you can see where our starting figure sits inside the market rather than being asked to take it on trust. They are not our own job history — this business has none to publish yet, and we would rather say that than imply otherwise.

Is a built-in repair really more expensive?

Sometimes, and only because of the access. The component is frequently identical to the one in a mass-market machine. What differs is that a panel comes off, an appliance comes forward out of an opening cut for it, and it all goes back true. The diagnostic fee is the same either way.

What if the repair is not worth doing?

You get told, with the arithmetic, before anything is ordered. Where a repair approaches what the appliance is worth we say so plainly, and where a part is no longer made we say that at the diagnosis rather than after a week of waiting.

Does the diagnostic really come off the bill?

Yes, on any job we carry out. If you decide not to go ahead, you pay the diagnostic and nothing else, and you leave knowing what is wrong with your appliance and roughly what putting it right would take.

Do you charge more for a same-day visit?

The diagnostic is the diagnostic. What we will not do is promise a slot we cannot keep in order to win the call — tell us where you are and you will get the earliest time we can actually hold.

In more detail

What decides the cost of a Fisher & Paykel repair

Three things, in this order. Which component — a temperature sensor and a control board are the two ends of the same complaint and they are not close together. How the machine comes out — every freezer and wine cabinet in this line is integrated, so are 24 of the 51 refrigeration models and 22 of the 51 dishwashers, and reaching a part behind a cabinet panel is planned work rather than a surprise. And whether it is a part at all — a striking share of what arrives here ends at a filter, a burner cap, a duct, a ventilation opening or a full minute at the breaker, and those end at the visit fee.

What does not decide it is the badge. Nothing on this site is priced up because the appliance was expensive, and where the value of the machine matters it changes our advice rather than our figure — a sealed-system repair worth doing on a column and not on a small cabinet, a control board worth ordering on a five-year-old machine and not on a fifteen-year-old one.

Exact cost is confirmed after an on-site diagnostic, and the scope and the figure are agreed in writing before anything is opened. Every number published here is traceable to a row in this site’s own pricing record, with the evidence it was set against written down beside it.

Book the diagnostic and get a real figure.
