What moves it

Why two of the same job cost different amounts

These apply at the same time and in both directions. Which of them is true of your kitchen is what the on-site diagnostic settles.

  • What kind of machine

A freestanding dryer and an integrated column are not the same job. Panels, water lines and fixing points all add time.

  • Whether the opening is right

A cutout cut for a different machine, or a housing without the ventilation the instructions required, changes the work — and sometimes means a carpenter rather than us.

  • The panel

Hanging and aligning a cabinet front is its own piece of work, and doing it properly is the difference between a kitchen that looks finished and one that does not.

  • Water and drain

Connections made and tested under pressure, where the appliance has them.

The work itself

What we actually do

The job behind the figure: what it involves, when a symptom points at it, and what we check first.

  • An integrated dishwasher part-way into its opening on a protective mat, custom oak panel held against its door, hoses guided behind by the second pair of hands. Seen from behind, no faces.

    Appliance installation & re-fit

Putting a built-in machine back into the opening it came out of, aligning a cabinet panel so the kitchen looks right again, and connecting water where there is water. Not a delivery service — this is the re-install after a repair, a kitchen change, or a machine that was never fitted the way its own instructions asked.

    • Fitted to the maker's own instructions, and we tell you what they said
    • Cabinet panel alignment as a job in its own right
    • Ventilation and clearance checked, because it causes later repairs

About Fisher & Paykel appliance installation & re-fit cost

Why installation is a service on a repair site

Because on built-in equipment a poor installation causes repairs. A cabinet cut without the ventilation the instructions asked for produces induction zones that cut out and speed ovens that overheat, indefinitely, with nothing broken. Correcting that is cheaper than replacing the boards it will keep taking out.

What is included

Fitting to the maker's own instructions for that model, levelling and fixing, clearance checks, cabinet panel hanging and alignment, water and drain connections tested under pressure, and a full cycle run before the appointment ends.

What is not

Delivery, cabinetry, and electrical or gas work that belongs to a licensed trade. Where a job needs one of those we say so before starting rather than halfway through. Exact cost is confirmed after an on-site assessment.

Questions about fisher & Paykel appliance installation & re-fit cost

Does installing it yourselves affect the warranty?

The maker's warranty asks that an appliance be installed, operated and maintained according to its own instructions — that is its wording, and it is why this job is done to those instructions rather than to habit. What we can tell you is exactly what was required and what was done. Whether a particular claim is honored is between you and the manufacturer.

Can you re-use our existing cabinet panel?

Usually, and it is worth asking rather than assuming a new one is needed. What decides it is weight and hinge geometry, and we can tell you at the visit.

Do you deliver appliances?

No. If the appliance is on your floor, we can fit it. Buying and delivering is somebody else's job and we would rather say so than take it on badly.
