Repair cost
Fisher & Paykel dryer repair cost
Heating, airflow and moisture sensing across vented, condenser and heat pump machines. A large share of these end outside the appliance, in a duct run, which is why the figure starts where it does.
- From $95 diagnostic, credited to the repair

- OEM parts available on order

The short version
Where this figure comes from
A starting point for built-in appliances in South Florida, published so the number is not a mystery until somebody is standing in your kitchen.

What moves it
Why two of the same job cost different amounts
These apply at the same time and in both directions. Which of them is true of your kitchen is what the on-site diagnostic settles.
-
Which kind of dryer
Vented, condenser or heat pump. On the first, no heat is usually an element or a thermostat. On the third there is no element at all and the answer is a refrigerant circuit — a different order of job, and quoted separately.
-
Whether it is the duct
A restricted run to the outside wall produces no-heat and slow-drying complaints on a machine with nothing wrong. It is not the appliance and it is the commonest finding.
-
Airflow or sensing
Filters, heat exchangers and sensor bars are cleaned rather than replaced, and those visits end at the low end of the row.
-
Parts availability
Elements, thermostats, belts and rollers are usually there. Boards on a discontinued line are the risk, and you are told before anything is ordered.

What we actually do
The job behind the figure: what it involves, when a symptom points at it, and what we check first.
-
from $155 Dryer heating repair
A drum that turns with no heat in it, or heat that cuts out part-way through a cycle. What is behind it depends entirely on which kind of dryer you have — vented, condenser or heat pump — because only one of the three has a heating element in the ordinary sense.
- Which kind of dryer, established before anything else
- Airflow checked before the element is condemned
- Heat pump circuits diagnosed rather than quoted blind
In more detail
About Fisher & Paykel dryer repair cost
Three machines, one row
Vented dryers heat with an element and push wet air outside. Condenser machines cool that air inside instead. Heat pump machines have no element at all and move heat around a refrigerant circuit. "No heat" means three different repairs, and the starting figure here covers the first two — a heat pump circuit is diagnosed and quoted on its own.
Why airflow is checked before the element
Because a restricted dryer trips its own thermal cut-out, and a tripped cut-out produces exactly the no-heat symptom people book as a dead element. Replacing the element on a machine with a blocked duct buys you a second failure and a second bill.
The market range
Dryer repairs across South Florida sit in a researched market range of roughly $140 to $420 parts and labor. Ours starts at $155, and exact cost is confirmed after an on-site diagnostic.

Questions about fisher & Paykel dryer repair cost
My heat pump dryer is slow. Is that a big repair?
Usually not. The order is both lint filters, then the heat exchanger behind them, then the sensors — and two of those three are cleaned rather than replaced. The refrigerant circuit is last and it is quoted separately when it gets that far.
Clothes are damp but the machine stopped.
That is moisture sensing, and it is the cheap end. Sensor bars coated in fabric-softener residue end a cycle early, and cleaning them with a little detergent on a cloth is worth doing before anybody comes out.
Do you clean the duct as well?
We check it end to end as part of the diagnosis, because it is the commonest cause. Where a full duct cleaning is needed you are told what is involved and what it costs before it is done.
