Look at the panel first
If it is flashing, photograph it. A drawer holding a condition and a drawer with a stuck mechanism need different things.

Power off and on at the wall
Not the button — the wall. It resets the control and often lets the lid mechanism return to its rest position.

Try gentle pressure inward, then out
Pushing the drawer a few millimeters in can release a mechanism sitting on its stop. Gentle. If it does not come, stop.

Do not use a tool
Anything levered under the front goes through the panel or the runner. There is no hidden manual release on these to find.

The fastest diagnosis is the code
Do not force it. The lid is held down on the drawer under motor pressure during a cycle and is meant to lift at the end; a drawer that stays shut usually means the lid motor has not driven back up. If the machine still has power, switching it off at the wall and back on will sometimes let the lid release. Pulling on the front instead turns a mechanism repair into a front-panel repair, and that is the most expensive mistake available on this page.
Why this drawer stays shut
A DishDrawer seals by having a lid driven down onto the top of the drawer by a motor, held there through the cycle, and lifted at the end. If the motor does not complete that last movement, the drawer is still sealed and will not slide. Nothing is broken in a way that gets worse by waiting — but a great deal gets worse by pulling.
What forcing it costs
A lid mechanism is a repair. A drawer front, a runner, or an integrated cabinet panel pulled off its brackets is a different order of job, and every one of those is what happens when a stuck drawer meets a determined pull. This is the one page on this site where the most useful advice is to do nothing.
The free attempt worth making
Power off at the wall, wait a full minute, power back on. The control resets, the mechanism is commanded to its rest position, and a fair share of these open at that point. If it does not, the machine is telling you something real.

Is there a manual release?
Not one you should be looking for. On these machines the lid is driven by a motor and released by the same motor; there is no emergency lever behind the kickplate to find, and the things people try instead — a knife under the front, a screwdriver at the side — go through the panel or the runner. It is a genuinely small repair if nobody has forced it first.
It opened eventually on its own.
Then the mechanism is intermittent rather than stopped, and that is still worth a call. A lid motor that is on its way out gives you exactly this warning first, and dealing with it while the drawer still opens is cheaper and less inconvenient than dealing with it when it does not.

Expected. Each drawer has its own lid mechanism. Use the working one while the other waits — that is one of the real advantages of a double, and it is why we do not treat a stuck drawer as an emergency unless there is water involved.
