The fastest diagnosis is the code
Stop running it and look for water in the base of the machine. These have flood detection: if the appliance has seen water where it should not be, it shuts itself down deliberately and refuses to restart — which looks exactly like a dead dishwasher and is the opposite. Then look at how much detergent is going in. Excess foam pushes past a seal that holds water perfectly well, and the maker's own limit for these is a teaspoon.
Why a drawer leaks differently
A DishDrawer seals from above: a lid is driven down onto the top of the drawer by a motor and held there for the cycle. Water that gets past that seal has nowhere to go but down the outside. The inside is bone dry. How can it be leaking?
That is the normal picture on a drawer. The seal sits at the top of the tub, so water that gets past it runs down the outside of the drawer and out under the front rather than pooling anywhere you can see. On a conventional door machine the same puddle would point at a gasket or a hose.
It stopped mid-cycle and now it is dead.
Very likely flood detection working as designed. The machine saw water in its base and shut down on purpose, and it will not simply forget. Look for water underneath before assuming a control board — a machine protecting itself and a machine that has failed look identical from the front.
Can I keep using the other drawer?
Usually yes — they have separate seals and separate water paths. What we would not do is keep running the leaking one, because water in the base is what triggers the shutdown that makes the whole machine unusable.
