Fisher & Paykel induction cooktop repair
Seventeen induction cooktops and seven induction ranges, and one complaint above all others: a zone that cuts out under load while the rest carry on. That is usually heat and installation rather than the coil — which is why this visit starts by looking under the counter.
- From $95 diagnostic, credited to the repair
- 59 cities and neighborhoods covered

How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

01
One zone or all of them
A single zone dropping out and a whole cooktop shutting down are different diagnoses. The first is that zone's board or sensor, or the heat around it; the second is supply, control or the cooktop protecting itself.
-
02
Look under the counter
Each induction position has a power board beneath it, those boards make heat, and a fan pulls air through the cabinet to remove it. In a sealed island in a Miami kitchen there is often nowhere for that air to come from. Checking the ventilation the installation instructions asked for ends a real share of these calls without a part.

03
Change the pan
Free, and genuinely diagnostic. A pan that is warped, undersized or barely magnetic will make one zone behave badly while everything else is perfect, and a different pan settles it in a minute.

04
Read the code properly
A plain E or Er means the electronics overheated and shut down. Er03, Er22 and Er31 are control panel; Er47, EA and E9 are communication or sensor; E2, E6, U400 and E8 are temperature or power; Er20, E4 and AE0 are internal. That grouping is the maker's, and it is as far as the published information goes.

Then the board, under load
Tested with the zone working rather than cold, because a board that fails at eighty percent power tests perfectly at rest. It is also why we ask you not to switch a misbehaving cooktop off and leave it before the visit.
The money
What this usually costs in South Florida
The starting figure, the range the market quotes around it, and what pushes a job to either end.
-
Induction cooktop repair cost
Power boards, zone sensors and the cooling that keeps them alive. The figure is high because the part is a board — but a real share of these calls end without one, at the cabinet under the counter.
- Researched market range for South Florida: induction board work $220–$600
- Ventilation and pan checked before a board is quoted
- Diagnosed under load, not cold

Induction · SmartZone · Gas · Rangetops · Teppanyaki · Electric · 12" · 24" · 30" · 36" · 48" Fisher & Paykel cooktop repair in Miami
Forty-six machines and four different technologies under one word: seventeen induction cooktops, thirteen sealed gas, eleven professional rangetops, three electric and two teppanyaki plates. A rangetop is the top half of a professional range with nothing underneath it — the same grates, the same burners, the same repair — which is why it is on this page rather than a page of its own.
- One induction zone cutting out while the rest keep going
- Ignitors clicking without the burner lighting
- Touch controls that stop responding, or dials that have become hard to turn
-
Professional gas · Dual fuel · Induction · Classic · 4 · 5 · 6 · 8 burner · Griddle · 30" · 36" · 48" Fisher & Paykel range repair in Miami
Forty-one freestanding ranges, and the split tells you what this maker is: sixteen dual fuel, fifteen gas, seven induction and one electric. Twenty-seven of them are Professional — heavy grates, dual-flow burners, four to eight of them, and on the larger machines a griddle let into the top. On a 48-inch range, "the oven is not heating" means one of two ovens, and which one narrows the part before anybody drives anywhere.
- A burner that will not light, or lights and drops out at low setting
- The oven running hot or cold while looking perfectly healthy
- An induction zone that cuts out under load while the others carry on

About Fisher & Paykel induction cooktop repair
What actually fails on induction
Not much, and that is the point of the technology — there is no flame, no element and nothing to burn out. What there is: a power board per zone, the fan and airflow that keep those boards cool, the sensors that watch the surface, and the touch control. The commonest call by a wide margin is a zone dropping out, and the commonest answer to it is heat.
Why installation is part of the diagnosis
An induction cooktop in a sealed island with no ventilation cut into the cabinet will overheat and protect itself, forever, without anything being broken. That is not a repair; it is a carpentry job, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a board that will do the same thing next August.
The codes
The maker groups them — control panel, communication or sensor, temperature or power, internal — and prints one remedy: power off at the supply, wait a minute, restart, book a repair if it returns. A plain E or Er with nothing after it means the electronics overheated and turned themselves off, which points back at airflow.

Questions about fisher & Paykel induction cooktop repair
One zone cuts out and the others are fine.
Heat, in most cases, rather than the coil. Check that the cabinet under the cooktop has the ventilation the installation instructions required, that nothing is stored tight underneath, and whether the same zone fails with a different pan. If it happens on one zone with everything clear, that zone's power board or its sensor is the repair.
There is a crackling noise from the pan.
The maker publishes an article on it because it worries people, and it is usually the pan rather than the cooktop. Multi-ply pans with a sandwiched base make noise as the layers heat at slightly different rates, and it is loudest at high power. A different pan changes it. What is worth a call is a buzz or a hum that comes from the cooktop itself and continues with nothing on it.
The fan under the cooktop runs for a long time after cooking.
It is meant to. The boards need to come down in temperature after a hard session, and the fan runs on to do that — sometimes for a good while. A fan that never stops on a cold cooktop, or one that has become much louder, is the thing to call about.
The glass has cracked. Can it still be used?
No. Stop using it and switch it off at the wall. A cracked induction surface is an electrical safety matter as well as a cooking one, and the maker treats it that way. It is a glass replacement rather than a repair, and it has its own page and its own figure.
