## What a Fisher & Paykel repair starts at, and what actually moves the number.

Every figure here is a starting point and a researched market range for this equipment in South Florida — never a quote and never a final price. On this maker the largest single variable is not the part: it is whether the machine has to come out of the cabinetry it was built into. The pages below say which jobs that applies to.

from $95 — diagnostic, credited to the repair

21 — jobs with a published starting figure

Written — scope and price before anything is opened

## Every repair, and what it starts at

The figure on a card is where that job begins for this equipment here. What moves it is which component, and how the appliance leaves the place it was fitted into.

Nothing is listed here yet. Describe the job when you book and you will get a figure the same way — after somebody has looked at the machine.

## Nothing here is priced higher because the badge is expensive.

This line runs from a Series 5 freestanding refrigerator to a Series 11 integrated column, and **no row on this site moves with it**. What does move a figure is the access: an integrated column fitted into millwork cut for it, a wall oven in a tall housing, a cooktop set into stone. That is real work and it is planned rather than discovered.

Where the value of the appliance changes anything, it changes the *advice* rather than the price. A sealed-system repair that is straightforwardly worth doing on an integrated column is often not worth doing on a small freestanding cabinet, and the page says so — including when saying so costs us the job.

## Four things every one of these pages means

The same four rules sit behind every figure on this site, so a page never has to restate them.

"From" means from

- It is where that job starts for this equipment in South Florida
- Not what yours will cost — that is confirmed after an on-site diagnostic

The range is the market's, not ours

- Where a page quotes $150–$400, that is a researched band for the same work across South Florida
- It is published so you can see where our starting figure sits inside it

Parts and labor together

- Unless a page says otherwise
- The diagnostic comes off the bill when the work goes ahead

Nothing is opened before you agree

- A written scope and figure comes first
- If the honest answer is that the repair is not worth doing, that is what you get instead of a quote

## A part with no market price, and a machine the maker no longer sells.

**The DishDrawer lid mechanism** has no equivalent in any other dishwasher, so there is no aggregator band to set it against. That row is priced on labor plus a part sourced as an assembly, and the page says so rather than borrowing a number from a machine that works differently.

**The laundry rows** carry a parts caveat instead of a warranty one. This maker lists no washer or dryer for the United States while continuing to sell laundry spare parts and stacking kits — machines in service, no machines for sale. Common wear items are usually available; model-specific electronics are the risk. Availability is confirmed before anything is ordered.

## Or start from the machine

Nine appliance pages, each with what we are called out for most on that machine and what it starts at.

## Not every job we do has a page here.

These are the repairs people ask the cost of often enough to publish a figure for. If yours is not on the list — a warming drawer, a coffee maker, a ventilation unit, or something older than any current line — describe it when you book.

You will get a figure the same way everybody else does: after somebody has actually looked at it.

## What people ask about cost

Why will you not give me a final price on the phone? — Because the same symptom has several ordinary causes that sit hundreds of dollars apart, and only the appliance settles which one is yours. A phone price is either padded to cover the worst case or too low to honor once the panel is off, and both cost you more than a $95 diagnostic that comes off the bill.

Where do the market ranges come from? — They are researched bands for the same parts and the same labor across South Florida, narrowed by what the component actually is on this equipment and by what the installation does to the time. They are published so you can see where our starting figure sits inside the market rather than being asked to take it on trust. They are not our own job history — this business has none to publish yet, and we would rather say that than imply otherwise.

Is a built-in repair really more expensive? — Sometimes, and only because of the access. The component is frequently identical to the one in a mass-market machine. What differs is that a panel comes off, an appliance comes forward out of an opening cut for it, and it all goes back true. The diagnostic fee is the same either way.

What if the repair is not worth doing? — You get told, with the arithmetic, before anything is ordered. Where a repair approaches what the appliance is worth we say so plainly, and where a part is no longer made we say that at the diagnosis rather than after a week of waiting.

Does the diagnostic really come off the bill? — Yes, on any job we carry out. If you decide not to go ahead, you pay the diagnostic and nothing else, and you leave knowing what is wrong with your appliance and roughly what putting it right would take.

Do you charge more for a same-day visit? — The diagnostic is the diagnostic. What we will not do is promise a slot we cannot keep in order to win the call — tell us where you are and you will get the earliest time we can actually hold.

## What decides the cost of a Fisher & Paykel repair

Three things, in this order. **Which component** — a temperature sensor and a control board are the two ends of the same complaint and they are not close together. **How the machine comes out** — every freezer and wine cabinet in this line is integrated, so are 24 of the 51 refrigeration models and 22 of the 51 dishwashers, and reaching a part behind a cabinet panel is planned work rather than a surprise. And **whether it is a part at all** — a striking share of what arrives here ends at a filter, a burner cap, a duct, a ventilation opening or a full minute at the breaker, and those end at the visit fee.

What does not decide it is the badge. Nothing on this site is priced up because the appliance was expensive, and where the value of the machine matters it changes our advice rather than our figure — a sealed-system repair worth doing on a column and not on a small cabinet, a control board worth ordering on a five-year-old machine and not on a fifteen-year-old one.

**Exact cost is confirmed after an on-site diagnostic**, and the scope and the figure are agreed in writing before anything is opened. Every number published here is traceable to a row in this site’s own pricing record, with the evidence it was set against written down beside it.

## Book the diagnostic and get a real figure.

From $95, credited toward the repair, with the scope and the price in writing before anything is opened.
