## Fisher & Paykel models, by number: what goes wrong on each.

Find your number below, or read where to find it on the unit. Each page says what that machine is, what tends to go wrong with it, and what the work costs here.

312 — models people ask about by number

3 — counties covered end to end

OEM — parts available on order

from $95 — diagnostic, credited to the repair

## The numbers people ask us about

Each page lists what owners of that model actually search for, what the machine is, and where those symptoms usually lead.

No model pages published yet. Call [(305) 902-4477](tel:+13059024477) with the number from the data plate.

## Where the model number is on your unit

It depends on the appliance. Inside the fresh food compartment on a refrigerator, usually high on the left or right wall. On the edge of the door on a dishwasher. On the frame inside the door on a wall oven or a range. Behind a filter on a hood. Inside the door frame on a microwave, a washer or a dryer. Behind the grille at the bottom on an undercounter cabinet, and inside the door frame on a wine cellar.

Take a photograph rather than writing it down. The full number includes the letters after the digits — those decide which parts fit, and they are the part people misread most often.

## Or start from the symptom

If you do not have the number to hand, start from what the unit is doing. Every symptom page says what to check first and when it stops being a five-minute job.

## This is a list of what people ask about, not of what we repair.

312 numbers have pages here because those are the ones people search for by number. We work on the rest of the range as well — the pages simply follow demand rather than the catalog.

Tell us the number from the data plate and what the unit is doing, and we will tell you what the machine is, what the symptom usually points at, and what the work involves. **Call [(305) 902-4477](tel:+13059024477)**, or send a photograph of the plate through the form above.

## Questions about models and parts

Is a twenty-year-old unit still worth repairing? — Usually, yes. These were built to be repaired, and a legacy cabinet in good condition with sound cabinetry is worth keeping. Where it stops being worth it is when the work approaches what the unit is worth, or when a second major failure is already visible — and we will say so on the visit rather than after.

Can you still get parts for the older units? — For most of what fails, yes — OEM parts are available on order, though legacy parts can take a few days to source. That is why we confirm a part is the problem before ordering it rather than after.

Why do you not list the specifications for each model? — Because we cannot verify them. Capacity, dimensions and production years published second-hand are wrong often enough that a table of them would be a liability, and inventing one would break our own rule about publishing only what we can stand behind. What we do publish is what the number means for the repair.

The number on my unit has letters after it. Does that matter? — Yes, for parts. The digits identify the family; the letters identify the configuration, and two units sharing the same digits can take different components. Photograph the whole plate and we will read it from there.

Do you work on the current range as well? — Yes, the whole current range. These pages exist because a number is what people search by; everything else this maker sells is covered on the appliance pages.

## What a Fisher & Paykel model number tells you, and what it does not

### The series is the specification, not the size

Every current machine belongs to **Series 5, 7, 9 or 11**, and the number is a level of specification rather than a dimension. A Series 5 oven and a Series 11 oven can be the same 30 inches wide and cut into the same opening; what changes is the control, the cavity, and how much of the machine is electronic. For a repair that matters in one specific way: the higher the series, the more likely the problem is a board or a sensor rather than a mechanical part, and the more likely the part is model-specific rather than shared.

### The style decides the front, and the front decides the appointment

The same machine is sold as **Contemporary**, **Professional**, **Minimal**, **Classic** or **Integrated**, and the difference is the face. Contemporary is stainless with a bar handle. Professional is heavier stainless with a rail. Minimal is a flush glass front with no handle at all. Integrated arrives with no front, because your cabinetmaker is making it. On this line every freezer and every wine cabinet is Integrated, and so are twenty-four of the fifty-one refrigeration models and twenty-two of the fifty-one dishwashing machines.

That is not a cosmetic note. A panel comes off before some repairs and goes back aligned afterwards, and a door that has started to sit crooked is often the panel hardware rather than the appliance — a much smaller job than the one people brace for.

### Everything on this archive is current, and that is deliberate

These 312 pages come from the maker’s own United States support base, and not one machine in it is marked discontinued. So this archive is the current line and says nothing about a 2005 DishDrawer or a SmartDrive washer. **We repair those; we do not pretend to publish them.** If your model number is not here, it is far more likely to be older than the line than to be missing — tell us the number when you book and we will say what parts availability looks like before anything is ordered.

### What the number will not tell you

It will not tell you which code your machine can produce, because on this maker a code belongs to the appliance rather than to the model: A1 is an overheated oven and also a DishDrawer that did not fill. It will not tell you the cost of a repair, because that is decided by which component failed and how the machine comes out of the place it was built into. And it will not tell you whether the machine is still under the maker’s warranty — that lives in a separate Service & Warranty booklet rather than in the user guide, which is why the guide in your drawer does not answer it.

## Send the plate, and what it is doing.

A photograph of the data plate and a line about the symptom is enough for us to say what is likely and what it should cost.
