## Fisher & Paykel appliance repair in Miami, appliance by appliance.

A dishwasher that is a drawer, an oven that cooks with steam, a refrigerator column behind your own cabinet front, a cooktop set into stone, and the laundry pair this maker no longer sells but we still repair. Tell us which one you have and what it is doing.

9 — appliance types we repair

3 — counties covered end to end

OEM — parts available on order

from $95 — diagnostic, credited to the repair

## What we repair, and what usually goes wrong with it

Each card lists what we are called out for most on that appliance. Start with the one that matches yours — the page behind it covers what the machine reports, the parts, and what the work starts at.

Nothing is listed here yet. Call and describe the appliance — the list on this page is what we publish, not the limit of what we repair.

## A DishDrawer seals from above, and everything else follows from that.

Forty of the fifty-one dishwashing machines in this line are **drawers rather than doors**. Instead of a gasket around a door, a lid is driven down onto the top of the drawer by a lid motor and held there for the whole cycle.

Three practical consequences. There is a **lid motor** to fail, and nothing else in a kitchen has one. The seal is **horizontal**, so it collects what falls on it rather than shedding it. And a double is **two complete machines** — two rotors, two controllers, two filters — which is why one drawer can be perfect while the other is out, and why the first question we ask is which drawer.

## On a great deal of this equipment, the door you are looking at belongs to your cabinetmaker.

Every freezer and every wine cabinet in this line is Integrated, and so are twenty-four of the fifty-one refrigeration models and twenty-two of the dishwashers. The front is your own millwork, hung on the appliance’s hinges and carrying its own weight.

That changes two things, and only two. The panel comes off before some repairs and goes back on aligned afterwards — planned time rather than a surprise. And **a door that has started to sit crooked may be the panel hardware rather than the appliance**, which is a much smaller job than the one people brace for. Mention it when you book.

## The repairs behind those symptoms

If you already know what the appliance needs, these are the pages with the starting figures on them.

## Four things that make the visit shorter

None of them take a minute to find, and between them they decide whether the part is on the van.

The model number

- On this equipment it is usually inside the door frame or the compartment, not on the back
- A photograph of the plate beats reading it out

The code, exactly as shown

- Letters included: on this maker the letter is half the information
- On a DishDrawer there is no number — the pattern of flashing lights is the code

Which one

- Which drawer on a double DishDrawer, which cavity on a double oven
- Which zone on a triple-zone freezer, which burner on a range

Whether it is built in

- And whether the front is a cabinet panel rather than the maker's own
- It changes the access, and therefore the time, and therefore the figure

## This list is not the limit of what we repair.

These nine are what Fisher & Paykel builds that this site covers page by page. We also work on its warming drawers, vacuum-seal drawers, built-in coffee makers and ventilation, and on the older machines that are no longer in any current line.

If your appliance is not on this page, describe it in your own words when you book — it is very likely something we see every week.

## What Miami repair in South Florida actually involves

This maker builds a kitchen that is mostly built in and mostly made in New Zealand, and both facts show up in a repair. Built in means the access is planned work: a column comes out of the opening it was cut for, a panel comes off and goes back true, a cooktop lifts out of stone. Made somewhere else means the parts conversation is worth having before anything is ordered rather than after.

What is genuinely different here from the rest of this fleet is the **DishDrawer** — a dishwasher that is a drawer, with a lid motor, a horizontal seal and, on a double, two of everything. Nothing else in a Miami kitchen works that way, and a technician who has not opened one before will spend your appointment learning.

The second difference is how these machines talk. A wall oven prints **A1**, **A2** or **A3** and otherwise an **F number** the maker never explains. A refrigerator counts beeps and flashes an LED. A DishDrawer flashes a pattern of program lights with no number at all. Our code pages are built from the maker’s own guides and support articles, they are keyed to the appliance rather than to the number, and where the maker publishes a family instead of a meaning, we publish the family and say so.

And the third is the climate. Salt air on a condenser, a sealed island with nowhere for an induction board to send its heat, humidity around an integrated column, and a storm season that resets clocks and leaves machines looking dead when they are only waiting. Those are not general facts about appliances; they are what we actually see in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.

## Before you book

Are you a Fisher & Paykel service center? — No, and we will not say we are. We are an independent repair company, not affiliated with, authorized by or endorsed by any manufacturer, and we do not carry out repairs on any manufacturer's behalf. What we do carry is our own warranty on the work we performed and the parts we fitted, and OEM parts are available on order.

Is my appliance still under the maker's warranty? — It is worth checking before you book anybody, including us. This maker states its warranty terms in a separate Service & Warranty booklet rather than in the user guide, so the guide in your drawer will not tell you — the booklet, your purchase paperwork or a product registration will. If your machine is still covered, tell us and we will say so plainly. We would rather lose a call than be paid for somebody else's obligation.

Why is a built-in repair more expensive than the same repair on a freestanding machine? — Usually it is not the part — it is the access. An integrated column is fitted into cabinetry cut to it, often fixed to the surround, with the water line and the electrical connection behind. Reaching a fan that costs eighty dollars can be most of the appointment. It is the single most useful thing to understand about this equipment, and it is why we give a starting figure rather than a price over the phone.

Do you repair Fisher & Paykel washers and dryers? — Yes. The maker no longer lists laundry for the United States — its own support base has the category and no machines in it — but the machines are here and the common parts are still sold. What we do not do is publish a model list or a code table for them, because there is no first-party source for one, and a table that is wrong about your machine costs you a visit.

My machine shows a code. Can you tell me what it means over the phone? — Often, and it is worth the call. Two things to have ready: the exact code with its letters, and which appliance it is on — the same number means different things on different machines from this maker. If it is a DishDrawer there will be no number at all; tell us which indicator lights are flashing, because that pattern is the code.

Do you work on machines that are twenty years old? — Regularly, and we tell you early when it is not worth it. The honest limit is parts: the common wear items on older machines are usually available and the model-specific electronics and cosmetics often are not. We check availability before ordering rather than after, and where a repair approaches the value of the appliance you get told that instead of a quote.

## Tell us the appliance and what it is doing.

You will have the scope and the price in writing before anything is opened.
